A low headroom hand chain hoist that maximizes hook travel in tight clearances — built for monorail cranes and single-girder systems that need power-free manual lifting, not just standard-headroom hoists.
The YTG Low Headroom hand chain hoist is the ideal solution for installations with strict headroom limits and special framing requirements. Built to EN13157 and custom-fitted to long or short reach framing, it uses a special trolley frame with an upper sheave and offset hoist machinery to optimize lifting height and deliver maximum hook height in tight clearance. Available from 1 t to 20 t with a standard 20 ft lift (longer lengths on request), it pairs an efficient hoist drive train with trolley wheels that fit both tapered and flat-flanged beams and maintenance-free sealed ball bearings that stay smooth and low-friction for life — built for industrial lifting applications where space is limited and for demanding environments.
It shares the proven Grade 80 heat-treated manganese alloy load chain, double enclosed brake cover that keeps out rain and dust, and all-steel construction with our standard hand chain hoist, but re-engineers the frame and sheave arrangement to reclaim headroom — choose it when a standard hoist simply cannot hook high enough under the beam.
Ultra-low headroom construction maximizes hook height and lifting travel in tight clearance spaces.
Special trolley frame with upper sheave and offset machinery fits both tapered and flat flanged beams for flexible installation.
All-steel construction, cast trolley wheels and heat-treated Grade 80 manganese alloy chain ensure excellent strength and wear resistance.
Enclosed double brake cover and sealed trolley bearings provide reliable braking, smooth movement and low-maintenance performance.
Not every lifting job needs a low-headroom design. Where a load is lifted and lowered at one open, well-clearanced station — a workbench, an outdoor rig, a maintenance bay with plenty of room under the beam — a standard hand chain hoist does the job at lower cost and with a simpler build. The YTG Low Headroom hoist is built for the opposite case: plants, retrofits, and special framing where the ceiling, building steel, or existing structure leaves almost no room above the hook. A special trolley frame with an upper sheave and offset hoist machinery reclaims that lost lift height, delivering maximum hook height in tight clearance applications.
Which YTG configuration fits your job?If your ceiling clearance is limited and you need the hook to rise as high as possible under the beam, the YTG low headroom hoist reclaims lift height in a compact body. If your load also needs to travel along an I-beam or runway, pair it with a geared or plain trolley that fits both tapered and flat-flanged beams. If you have no headroom constraint at all, a standard hand chain hoist is the simpler, more economical choice — available from 1 t to 20 t with a standard 20 ft lift.Compare: YTG Manual Chain Hoist Compare: DF Manual Chain Hoist

If the load only needs to move vertically, the low headroom hand chain hoist is the simpler, more compact choice. For movement along the runway, an optional hand-pushed or hand-geared traveling trolley is available.
Choose from 1–20 tons based on your heaviest rated load, plus a safety margin.
Confirm the trolley's flange width range matches your I-beam before ordering.
Select the standard lift height according to your on-site clearance, or order extended load chain and hand chain lengths to suit.

What's the difference between a low headroom hand chain hoist and a standard hand chain hoist?
A standard hand chain hoist requires greater headroom for installation. The low headroom hand chain hoist uses a low headroom trolley frame with an upper sheave and offset hoist body to maximize hook travel, making it ideal for fixed-point lifting in confined or low-clearance spaces.
What capacities does the low headroom hand chain hoist come in?
The capacity range covers 1 to 20 tons【confirm】, with a standard【3 m】lifting height; longer lifts are available on request.
Can I get a trolley version for travel along the runway?
Yes. Where powered travel isn't required, pair the hoist with a manual geared trolley or a manual plain trolley. Trolley wheels fit both tapered and flat flanged I-beams.
Which standard is it manufactured to, and what load chain is used?
The hoist is manufactured to EN 13157 and fitted with Grade 80 heat-treated manganese alloy load chain for abrasion and wear resistance【confirm】.
What applications is the low headroom hand chain hoist suitable for?
Industrial lifting applications where space is limited, and demanding environments — such as low-ceiling workshops, equipment maintenance and confined-space lifting【confirm examples】.
